Nisu (Pulla) Baking Class- February 17th, 2007

The Finnish Heritage Museum will be teaching a nisu (pulla) baking class on Sat. Feb. 17th, 2007 at Zion Lutheran Church, 508 Eagle St. Fairport Harbor. The class will be limited to 9 students only. The class will begin promptly at 7:00 a.m. and will last approximately 5-6 hours. Participants will need to bring head covering and a large mixing bowl. Participants will be making 4 loaves; 2 will be donated to the museum, and 2 will be taken home.
The second part of the class will be held on Sat. March 3rd at the Finnish Heritage Museum, 301 High St., Fairport Harbor at 3 p.m. Participants are to bring 1-2 loaves of nisu they have baked at home, so that teachers can help them improve their baking process.
The cost of the two-part class is $25.00 plus $5.00 materials fee. Checks can be made out to Finnish Heritage Museum and given to Niles Oinonen or mailed to P.O. Box 1121, Fairport Harbor, Ohio 44077.

Nisu (Pulla) Sale

A Nisu (Pulla) sale will be held Sat. Feb. 24, 2007 at the Finnish Heritage Museum. 301 High St. Fairport Harbor.
Nisu, or pulla is a Finnish coffee bread. A limited number of loaves will be on sale for $6.00 each. Coffee and nisu slices can also be purchased at the Museum Coffee Shoppe, which is open 9 a.m.-3p.m. every Saturday.
